Building an infinity pool on the edge of a hill 1,750 metres above sea level was not simple. Here is the story of how we did it.
<p>When we first sketched out the hotel design, our architect drew a pool that extended beyond the roofline — visually merging with the valley horizon. Everyone in the room said it was impossible. Three years later, it became the most photographed feature of the hotel.</p><p>The engineering required cantilevered supports anchored 8 metres into the hillside, a custom filtration system built for altitude, and heating that maintains 28°C year-round despite the cool highland climate.</p><p>The result is a pool where you swim toward the horizon and the valley fills your entire field of vision. At sunrise, the mist rises from below you. It is something you have to see to believe.</p>
